Occupational medicine is a medical specialty that focusses on the effects of an individual’s health on their work and vice versa.

It involves the diagnosis and management of occupational injuries and illnesses as well as advising on accomodations, restrictions and limitations. Physicians trained in occupational medicine are able to improve outcomes in disability and absence management, worker health and care and education.
